>>>BIG MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

Big Mountain was a whole heap of fun. I drove up to Ohakune (where they have giant carrot at the town gates) and attended a festival at the bottom of a snow covered Mt Ruapehu last weekend. The organizers did a really good job with providing a really nice co-operative atmosphere for filmmakers and a bunch of really useful and FREE film production tutorials. I think once the word spreads, this will become NZ's own Sundance sort of thing.

Met plenty of of fellow filmmakers and saw some great films. If you see these NZ short film titles anywhere, go see them: The Hit, Big Bad Wolves (awfullygrimm.com), Hell or High Water, Tight Heads, The Last Words, & Elemenopee.

Una Pezzo di Torta screened to a very receptive audience at All Shorts in Nelson. Notable NZ director, Gaylene Preston was in attendance to comment on the films on offer. The short will be included on the DVD of selected titles from the screening as well. The Nelson cinema where the event was held wishes to have additional screenings of some of the shorts including Una Pezzo di Torta.
